I have rebuilt this mako keeping the body original (the way Silva built it) while updating most of the mechanicals ! 350 ci / 400hp Pro-comp aluminum heads Barry Grant "BadMan" induction system Hot Rod Air heating and a/c 200-4R overdrive tranny/2400 stall converter VB&P o-ring calipers Speed Direct "Shark Bites" (polished coil-over suspension) paint: Med metallic blue 3 color fade blue/silver/gray with ghost sharks on hood with 6 different silver and blue microflakes in clear coat to make it look like water flowing over the top of the car. She's a shark, so I wanted it to look like its in the water !!!

RickWalker's Bio

I'm a 54 year old small business owner that loves custom cars............. I own :

1979 Ecklers Can-Am II corvette (454/450 tremec TKO)
1976 Mako Shark corvette (350/400 200-4R)
1973 Corvette (454/275 400) mostly original !
1969 Camaro (350/350 350) hugger orange

I built my '79 Can-Am II corvette a few years ago and then finally found my dream car.............. a "Mako Shark" Corvette.

My'76 Mako Shark II Corvette was originally built by John Silva in the '70's. Of the 125 makos he built, only 5 were "short-tails"...... and this is one of them !!! John called them "Maco Shark" vettes instead of Mako so GM didn't sue him.

I do all the work on my cars myself......... from mechanics to paint !
