This is my sons 70 Chevelle project I have named " The Big Red One ", after the 1st Division. My son and I had started this project together when he was 16, now 21, he has been deployed overseas. I have committed to finishing it as a surprise before he returns.
About the car, we purchased the body and stripped the interior and frame. We completely rebuilt the suspension front and rear.
I recently purchased an LS3 for the car. Tranny will be a 4L70E. Edelbrock E Force supercharger will give it a "kick" under the hood. Leather heated buckets, keyless entry with remote start, cruise and A/C.
Not forgetting a full compliment of AutoMeter gauges to include Speedo, Tach, Fuel Level, Fuel Press., Oil Press., Water Temp., Volts, Boost, and A/F Ratio. Maybe Military themed gauges would be the ticket?
Well due to the bodyshop, it wasnt ready in time. But it was a blessing in disguise. My son got a months leave after being deployed in Afghanistan attached to SOTF. We were able to work on it together as it was meant to be.
Operation Big Red One - Successful!!
Car is complete and turned out Great! Power Tour 2012 was a success! Mark that off my Bucket List, next, SEMA!
